New Delhi, November 3, 2026: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) brought Border Security Force (BSF) officers and personnel together at the Airport Security Training Institute (ASTI), CISF Unit ASG Delhi, for a specialised one-day programme on airport security. The training was designed to sharpen awareness of airport procedures, screening systems and operational methods used in aviation security.
Focus on airport screening and access control
According to the source, the programme concentrated on Access Control Management and the use of security screening equipment deployed at airports. BSF personnel were trained in the operation of X-ray Baggage Inspection Systems (X-BIS), Hand-Held Metal Detectors (HHMD), Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMD) and Explosive Trace Detectors (ETD).
The sessions were conducted by experienced ASTI instructors and combined classroom lectures with equipment familiarisation and practical demonstrations. This gave the participants direct exposure to the working of modern airport security systems and the procedures followed for screening and access control.

Inter-force cooperation and capacity building
The initiative was presented as part of the CISF’s effort to strengthen professional capabilities, support knowledge sharing and improve coordination among India’s Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).

Through such specialised training programmes, the CISF continues to support inter-force cooperation and capacity building, while helping security personnel develop the technical knowledge and operational skills needed to respond to evolving security challenges.
