The operation also underlines the challenge faced by BRO teams in the mountainous terrain of Arunachal Pradesh, where landslides and rough ground can cut off vital road links. In such regions, keeping roads open is essential for local communities and movement across remote areas.
Director General Border Roads (DGBR) congratulated Havildar Shinde on the recognition and praised his commitment to duty and selfless service. His performance was described as an inspiration to other BRO personnel and as an example of the organisation’s focus on dedication, courage and professional excellence.
Project Vartak, through its road construction and maintenance work, is involved in developing and maintaining critical infrastructure in the Northeast. Personnel posted there often handle demanding tasks in harsh geographical and weather conditions to keep road connectivity intact.
The recognition for Havildar Shinde Mangesh Dattatreya reflects the contribution of BRO personnel who work in difficult conditions to restore and maintain essential infrastructure. The report also points to the organisation’s motto, “Shrameṇa Sarvam Sādhyam”, which stresses the role of hard work and dedication in carrying out its responsibilities.
