In reaction to the ongoing violence in Manipur, the Indian army has launched a campaign dubbed “Together for Peace in Manipur,” which aims to promote togetherness and restore stability. The army is working with the state government and other stakeholders to instil a sense of security in all communities, particularly those living in remote locations outside the Imphal Valley. The deployment of army and Assam Rifles columns, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), is ongoing to facilitate area dominance exercises and hasten the restoration of normality in Manipur.
An initiative by Indian Army to Ensure Safety
More than 128 Army and Assam Rifles columns, as well as UAVs, have participated in area dominance exercises. The major goal is to restore complete normalcy in Manipur as soon as possible. Long-duration patrols comprised of women troops from the Assam Rifles have been assigned to sensitive locations identified in conjunction with the state government during the last 72 hours to accomplish this.

These dominance patrols have visited villages in a variety of localities, interacting with locals, women, and influencers. Their mission is to not only reassure locals of their safety but also to provide much-needed assistance. These patrols’ activities include providing on-site medical support by paramedics and performing preventive medical evacuations when necessary.
The army has urged all segments of Manipur’s population to support security forces in their efforts to preserve the hard-won peace and tranquilly. It encourages residents to oppose hate speech, misinformation, and any attempt to sow dissension or hatred within communities. The emphasis remains on establishing a united front in order to reduce violence and provide a safe environment for all.
