Himachal Pradesh To Start Green Hydrogen Policy

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu Announced On 20 May 2023 That It Will Formulate A ‘Green Hydrogen’ Policy To Promote The Use Of Green Hydrogen And Establish The State As A Leading Center For Its Production.
CM Sukhu Said That The State’s Abundant Renewable Energy Resources Make The State An Ideal Location For Generating Green Hydrogen.
This Initiative Of The State Will Not Only Contribute To The Global Fight Against Climate Change But Will Also Make The State A Leader In Sustainable Development.
Agreement With OIL
The State Government Has Signed An MoU With Oil India Limited (OIL) For The Production Of Green Hydrogen.
OIL Has Shown Interest In Setting Up A Plant In The State That Will Produce Green Hydrogen For Ethanol Production

Union Agriculture And Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar Released The Third Advance Estimates Of the Production Of Major Crops For The Agricultural Year 2022-23.
in which Food Grains Production Has Been Estimated At 3305.34 Lakh Tonnes In The Current Agricultural Year
Record Production Of Rice, Wheat, Maize, Soybean, Rapeseed Mustard And Sugarcane Has Been Estimated.
As Per The 3^rd Advance Estimates For 2022-23, The Estimated Production Of Major Crops Is As Follows: Total Food Grain Production: 3305.34 Lakh Tonnes (Record).
Rice: 1355.42 Lakh Tonnes, Which Is 60.71 Lakh Tonnes More Than Last Year.
Wheat: 1127.43 Lakh Tonnes
Bajra: 111.66 Lakh Tonnes
Nutri/Coarse Cereals (Shri Anna): 547.48 Lakh Tonnes
Maize: 359.13 Lakh Tonnes
Total Pulses: 275.04 Lakh Tonnes

1st Urban Climate Film Festival

The First Ever Urban Climate Film Festival Is Going To Be Held In New Town, Kolkata From June 3 To 5 To Sensitize The Audience About The Environmental, Social And Economic Impacts Of Climate Change On Urban Settlements. During This, 16 Films From 12 Countries Will Be Screened.
It Aims To Encourage Citizens To ‘Behave Environmentally Responsible’ In Line With The Call Of The Hon’ble Prime Minister Through The U-20 Priority Sectors And Lifestyle For Environment (LIFE) Mission.
The Festival Will Conclude With A Special Closing Ceremony On June 5, The Occasion Of World Environment Day
Launched In New Delhi In March 2023, The Film Festival Is Being Organized By The National Institute Of Urban Affairs.
This Is Being Done Through The City Investments To Innovate, Integrate And Sustain (Citiis) Program Under The U20 (Urban Track Of The G-20) Program

Ministry Of Civil Aviation Launches UDAN 5.1

The Ministry Of Civil Aviation In India Launched UDAN 5.1 On 24 May, A Special Edition Of The UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) Scheme, With A Special Focus On Helicopter Routes.
This Round Is Designed Specifically For Helicopter Routes
Increase In The Scope Of Operations For The Operators, Which Will Now Also Allow Routes Where One Of The Origin Or Destination Points Is In The Priority Zone.
The Airfare Ceiling Has Been Reduced By 25% To Make Flying In Helicopters More Affordable For Passengers
The Viability Gap Funding (VGF) Cap For Single And Twin-engine Helicopter Operators Has Been Substantially Increased To Enhance The Financial Viability For Operating The Routes. So Far 46 Helicopter Routes Have Been Operationalized Under The Scheme.
UDAN Scheme
Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) Was Launched In 2016 As A Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) Under The Ministry Of Civil Aviation.
Its Objective Is To Make Affordable, Economically Viable And Profitable Air Travel On Regional Routes Available To The Common Man Even In Small Towns.
It Seeks To Improve Air Connectivity To Tier-2 And Tier-3 Cities Through the Revival Of Unused And Underused Airports.
The Scheme Will Be Jointly Funded By The Central Government And State Governments

Western Sydney University Informed Agents In Its Letter That They Could No Longer Recruit Students From Punjab, Haryana, And Gujarat, Citing A Large Number Of Indian Students Who Started Courses In 2022 Who Had Dropped Out
According To The Sydney Morning Herald, Education Agents Are The Main Channel Through Which Foreign Students Enroll In Universities In The Nation. For Each Student Enrolled, Universities And Schools Pay These Agents Commissions Of Thousands Of Dollars.
Edith Cowan University In Perth Implemented A Comprehensive Prohibition On Accepting Applicants From The Indian States Of Punjab And Haryana. Victoria University Further Tightened Its Restrictions On Student Applications, Extending To 8 Indian States, Including Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, And Gujarat
