On June 21, 2023, the National Cadet Corps (NCC) commemorated the 9th International Yoga Day with fervour and enthusiasm, with 11 lakh NCC Cadets participating at various places across India. Yoga classes were held in parks, open spaces, schools, and colleges across the country, from Leh in the north to Kanyakumari in the south, and Dwarka in the west to Tezu in the east.

Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh, AVSM VSM, DGNCC, presided over a raucous gathering of cadets from all three services at Delhi Cantt. He urged everyone to embrace the Yoga way of life while discussing the significance of the themes “Har Aangan Yoga” and “Yoga for Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam.”
NCC held practice sessions for cadets in the run-up to the International Day of Yoga. These seminars aimed to teach the cadets the importance of yoga activities for individual health, as well as a message of unity and mindfulness towards society.
With this event, the NCC has once again taken up the responsibility of spreading the message of yoga fitness and health throughout the country, ensuring that the idea of good health and fitness is instilled in the minds and hearts of the country’s children.
