Blackhawk Secures Major Contract to Equip German Armed Forces with Modular Holster Carry System

In a significant development for military equipment supply, Blackhawk has secured a major contract to equip the German armed forces with its innovative modular Holster Carry System. This cutting-edge system is specifically designed to meet the rigorous demands of German soldiers, allowing for flexible carrying options on the belt, chest, or thigh. With the use of quick-detach adapters, the system seamlessly integrates with both Blackhawk and G-Code RTI components, making it a versatile choice for soldiers in the field.

Manufactured in the United States, the Holster Carry System prioritizes rugged reliability and operational adaptability, aligning with the real-world experiences of military personnel. This focus ensures that the equipment can withstand the challenges of combat environments while providing soldier-centric functionality.

Helmut Hofmann, a key partner in the project from Germany, emphasized the collaboration as an exemplary model of American engineering fused with German precision and logistical efficiency. Such partnerships are vital in advancing military readiness and equipping forces with modern technology.

Supporting Blackhawk in tendering for this contract was Outdoor Marketing International, which serves as the company’s European agency. Their market expertise and strong local connections proved essential in navigating the contract acquisition process, showcasing the importance of local partnerships in international defense procurement.

Peter Hofmann, the CEO of Helmut Hofmann, described the system’s adaptability as establishing “a new standard for military equipment.” He underscored the importance of international cooperation in delivering effective solutions tailored for armed forces, reinforcing the global nature of modern defense supply chains.

This contract aligns with Germany’s broader strategy of modernizing its military capabilities. In recent years, the German government has been proactive in awarding contracts for contemporary soldier systems. In April 2024, Rheinmetall secured a significant contract for the supply of up to 191,000 tactical intercom systems equipped with integrated hearing protection, enhancing soldier communications across the armed forces.

Additionally, in August 2024, Berlin announced a public tender for leather belt holsters for the HK SFP9‑TR service weapon, a move indicative of ongoing efforts to standardize carry gear across various service weapon platforms. This is part of a larger trend of equipping soldiers with modern protective and modular systems, as demonstrated by recent contracts awarded to Mehler Protection for the continuation of modular protective vests for German Special Operations Forces.

These developments highlight Germany’s commitment to providing its armed forces with advanced technology and equipment, ensuring that soldiers are well-prepared and supported for their missions.
