Contingency plans are in place, but any movement on the ground would be dependent on the security situation, which remains volatile with reports of fierce fighting at various locations in Khartoum. Sudan’s airspace is currently blocked to all foreign planes. Overland transport poses hazards and logistical problems. The MEA stated that India is constantly monitoring the security situation and is making every effort to protect the safety and security of Indians trapped in Sudan. According to the MEA, the Indian Embassy in Sudan maintains frequent contact with stranded Indians in Sudan. It informed individuals about the practicality of safe movement and the importance of avoiding unnecessary risk.
