In a significant convocation ceremony at the College of Military Engineering (CME) in Pune, degrees were awarded to 46 officers who completed advanced training across three technical disciplines on June 4, 2026. This occasion marked a pivotal academic and professional achievement for the graduating officers, reflecting their dedication to engineering and technology-related training.
The graduating cohort consisted of 16 officers from the M Tech Civil Structural Engineering Course, 13 from the M Tech Electrical Energy Systems Course, and 17 from the Technical Entry Scheme (TES-45) in Civil and Mechanical Engineering. Notably, included in the graduating class were 11 officers from allied foreign nations, underscoring CME Pune’s role as a premier institution not just for the Indian Army, but for international military collaboration.
Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Army Training Command (ARTRAC), served as the Chief Guest at the ceremony. His presence lent added gravitas to the event, which celebrated the completion of extensive academic training and technical proficiency.
During his address, Lieutenant General Sharma highlighted the convocation as a key milestone in the officers’ career trajectories. He commended the graduates for their commitment and reminded them of the critical importance of continuous learning in a rapidly changing military context.

In the M Tech Civil Structural Engineering stream, Captain Kinga Wangdi from the Royal Bhutan Army received the Gold Medal, while Lieutenant Colonel Pawan Kumar Dubey was honored with the GOC-in-C, ARTRAC Best Student Book Prize. In the M Tech Electrical Energy Systems stream, Lieutenant Colonel Sourab Gupta was acknowledged with both the Gold Medal and the Best Student Book Prize.
For the Technical Entry Scheme course, Lieutenant Ashutosh Singh took home the Gold Medal, and Lieutenant Nirmal Chandra Bhatt earned the Best Student Book Prize.
