150 Years of the Iron Man: Rashtriya Ekta Diwas 2025

India observes Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) every year on October 31, to honour the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the “Iron Man of India.” The year 2025 marks his 150th birth anniversary, making the celebration especially significant.

The main national event is taking place at Ekta Nagar in the Narmada district of Gujarat, the home of the Statue of Unity. The venue symbolises India’s motto of “Unity in Diversity”, representing the nation’s cultural and geographical richness.

Following the unity celebrations, Bharat Parv 2025 is being held at Ekta Nagar from November 1 to 15. The festival features:

  • Cultural performances representing India’s diverse states
  • A national food festival showcasing traditional cuisines
  • Exhibitions promoting unity and cultural integration

The event will conclude on November 15, coinciding with Birsa Munda Jayanti, celebrating the legendary tribal freedom fighter and honouring India’s tribal heritage.
