• The Centre Introduced The Government Of National Capital Territory Of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2023, In Lok Sabha. The Bill Seeks To Replace The National Capital Territory Of Delhi (Amendment) Ordinance, 2023, On The Control Of Services In Delhi.
• While The Opposition Tore Into The Government, Alleging That The Bill Aims To Take Away Delhi Assembly’s Powers, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Who Was Present In The House, Said, “All Objections Raised Are Political, Which Do Not Have Any Constitutional Basis.”
• The Centre Had Promulgated The Ordinance On May 19, 2023 – Eight Days After The Constitution Bench Of the Supreme Court Pronounced Its Judgment In The Government Of NCT Of Delhi V. Union Of India Case, Granting More Powers To The Delhi Government Over Services In The National Capital.

• Communications Ministry Said, The Campaign Was Introduced To Instill The Feeling Of Patriotism In The Hearts Of People.
• The Campaign Was an Immense Success In 2022 Where 23 Crore Households Hoisted The Tiranga At Their Homes Physically And Six Crore People Uploaded Selfies On Har Ghar Tiranga Website.

National Mission Of Clean Ganga Approves 7 Projects

• The National Mission Of Clean Ganga, NMCG Has Approved 7 Projects Worth Around Rs 692 Crore.
• Ministry Of Jal Shakti In A Statement Said That Out Of The Seven Projects Approved, Four Are Related To Sewage Management In Uttar Pradesh And Bihar.
• For Sewage Management In Uttar Pradesh, 3 Projects Worth Over 661 Crore Rupees Were Approved In The Meeting.
• These include the Creation Of A 100 Million Litres Per Day Sewage Treatment Plant In Lucknow Along With Interception And Diversion Works Under a Hybrid Annuity Mode.
• NMCG Has So Far Sanctioned A Total Of 452 Projects Worth Around 38,126 Crore Rupees And 254 Of Them Have Been Completed.

• Former US President Donald Trump Has Been Criminally Charged For A Bid To Overturn 2020 Election Defeat. Federal Prosecutors Have Charged Him With Conspiring To Seize A Second Term After Losing The 2020 Election. In A 45-page Indictment, Special Counsel Jack Smith Of The Justice Department Charged Trump With Four Felony Counts, Including Conspiracy To Defraud The United States And Conspiracy To Obstruct An Official Proceeding.
• The Indictment Also Accused Trump Of Trying To Exploit The Violent January 6, 2021, Assault On Congress To Continue His Effort To Cling To Power. The Indictment Identified Six Individuals As Co-conspirators In Trump’s Effort To Overturn The Election, But None Of Those People Was Charged. This Is The Third Time He Has Been Hit With Criminal Charges In Four Months, As He Campaigns To Regain The Presidency Next Year.
