Shohini Sinha Named Special Agent In Charge Of FBI

• An Indian-American Shohini Sinha Known For Her Work On Counter-terrorism Investigations, Has Been Named As A Special Agent In Charge Of The FBI’s Field Office In Salt Lake City In The US State Of Utah.
• Sinha, Who Most Recently Served As Executive Special Assistant To The Director At FBI Headquarters In Washington Dc Was Named The Special Agent In Charge By FBI Director Christopher Wray.
• He Had Highlighted Sinha’s Exceptional Track Record On Counter-terrorism Investigations And Extensive Experience Within The Agency. Sinha Joined The FBI As A Special Agent Back In 2001. In Recognition Of Her Outstanding Performance, She Earned A Promotion To Supervisory Special Agent In 2009 And Was Transferred To The Counterterrorism Division In Washington, DC.
• In 2021, Sinha’s Exceptional Performance And Leadership Qualities Were Recognized Once Again When She Was Chosen To Serve As The Executive Special Assistant To The FBI Director In Washington.

28 % GST On Online Gaming & Casinos

• Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Has Said, 28 Per Cent GST On Casinos And Online Gaming Will Be Levied On The Face Value.
• Post 51^st GST Council Meeting In New Delhi Yesterday, Ms Sitharaman Said, The 28 Per Cent GST On Online Gaming And Casinos Is Expected To Be Implemented From The 1st Of October.
• The Minister Said, The GST Council In Its Last Meeting Had Recommended That The Law May Be Amended In This Regard To Provide Clarity In The Matter.
• It Recommended Certain Amendments In The CGST Act 2017 And IGST Act 2017 To Provide Clarity On The Taxation Of Supplies In Casinos, Horse Racing, And Online Gaming.

• Department Has Invited People To Share Video Stories Showcasing How The Internet Has Transformed The Lives Of People.
• The Contestants Are Required To Upload Their Video Stories On Their Social Media Platforms Using The Hashtag Bharat Internet Utsav And Also On The MyGov Platform.
• Competition Will Conclude On The 21st Of This Month And The Winner Of The Competition Will Receive A Cash Prize Of 15,000 Rupees.

e – CARe Portal For Transfer Of Mortal Remains

• The Government Will Launch The E-care (E-clearance For Afterlife Remains) Portal To Facilitate The Swift Transfer Of Mortal Remains Of Indians Who Die Abroad.
• The Portal Is Being Introduced To Avoid Delay During The Transportation Of The Deceased Human Remains Across International Borders.
• Through This Portal, Intimation Will Be Sent Through Email, SMS, And WhatsApp To The Central International Health Division, Nodal Officer, Consignees, And The Airlines. The Designated Nodal Officer Will Scrutinize And Get Approval Within 48 Hours. 
• The Application Status Can Be Viewed In The E-care Portal Through The Registration Number.

38 Lakh Street Vendors Benefited From PM SVANidhi

• The Govt Has Said That 38 Lakh Street Vendors Have Benefited From PM Street Vendor’s Atmanirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) Scheme.
• The Scheme Was Launched In 2020.
• Vendors Can Avail A Working Capital Loan Of Up To 10,000 Rupees From The PM SVANidhi Scheme, Which Is Repayable In Monthly Installments In A Tenure Of One Year.
• 41 Per Cent Of Loan Has Been Given To Women. The Government Has Set A Target To Provide Around 50 Lakh Loans To Street Vendors.

• The Country Has Retrieved 251 Antiquities From Foreign Countries From The Year 1976 To 2023 Out Of Which 238 Antiquities Have Been Retrieved Since 2014.
• Government Is Committed To Bring Back The Antiquities Of Indian Origin Which Were Taken Away From The Country.
• No Agreement Has Been Made For The Return Of Missing Or Stolen Antiquities To India With Any Museum Abroad.
