  • Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya Inaugurated The First-ever WHO Traditional Medicine Global Summit At Mahatma Mandir In Gandhinagar.
  • The Meeting Is Being Organised On The Sidelines Of G20 Health Ministers ‘Meeting In Gandhinagar.
  • Addressing The Inaugural Session, The Minister Said The Summit Will Provide A Unique Opportunity To Engage In Dialogue, Exchange Ideas, Establish International Partnerships, To Advance The Agenda Of Traditional And Complementary Medicine And Work Together Toward Promoting The Potential Of Traditional Healing Practices Worldwide.
  • Stressing Upon The Role Of Traditional And Complementary Medicine In Promoting Health, Mr Mandaviya Expressed Hope That The Summit Can Be The Platform To Mobilize Political Commitment And, Evidence-based Action On Traditional Medicine, To Address Their Health And Well-being Needs.

Lander Module Separates From the Propulsion Module

  • The Primary Objective Of The Chandrayaan-3 Mission Is To Demonstrate A Safe And Soft Landing, Rover Roving On The Moon’s Surface, And In-situ Scientific Experiments.
  • The Lander And The Rover Are Equipped With Scientific Payloads To Carry Out These Experiments On The Lunar Surface. India’s Ambitious Moon Mission Chandrayaan-3 Successfully Completed Its Fifth And Final Lunar-bound Orbit Maneuver Yesterday.

World’s Highest Motorable Road In Eastern Ladakh

  • Border Roads Organisation (BRO) Has Commenced The Construction Of The World’s Highest Motorable Road, The Likaru-Migla-Fukche Road Close To Hanle In Eastern Ladakh. The 64-km Long Road Will Connect Likaru To Fukche Which Is Situated Three Kilometre Away From The LAC In Eastern Ladakh.
  • The New Highest Motorable Pass Will Set A New World Record Of Being The Motorable Road At An Altitude Of 19,400 Feet. Presently, The Umlingla Pass With The Height Of 19,024 Feet, Is The World’s Highest Motorable Pass, Constructed By BRO In The Year 2021.
  • Umlingla Pass Is a 52 Km Long Road That Connects Chishumle To Demchok, Which Is Right On The LAC and A Friction Point Between India And China.
  • The Proposed Road Between Likaru-migla-fukche Will Provide An Axis Connecting Hanle To CDFD Road At Fukche. The Strategically Important Road Will Pass Through Migla, Which Is At 19400 Feet. A Budget Of Approximately Rs 520 Crore Has Been Slated For The Ambitious Project.

PM e-Bus Sewa

  • The Government Has Approved PM e – Bus Sewa For Augmenting City Bus Operations By Introducing 10,000 E-Buses. Briefing Reporters In New Delhi After The Union Cabinet Meeting, Information And Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur Said, 57,613 Crore Rupees Will Be Spent On PM e – Bus Sewa.
  • He said, Ten Thousand New Electric Buses Will Be Deployed In 169 Cities. He said, The Scheme Will Cover Cities Having A Population Of Three Lakh And Beyond As Per The Census 2011 Including All The Capital Cities Of Union Territories, the Northeastern Region, And the Hill States. Mr Thakur Said, PM e – Bus Sewa Will Promote Green Mobility.
  •  The Scheme Will Generate 45 To 55 Thousand Direct Jobs Through The Deployment Of Ten Thousand Buses In The City Bus Operation.
  • The Cities Will Be Supported In The Development Of Charging Infrastructure Under Green Urban Mobility Initiatives. The Adoption Of Electric Mobility Will Reduce Noise And Air Pollution And Curb Carbon Emissions.

PM Vishwakarma Scheme

  • The Govt Has Approved PM Vishwakarma Scheme To Support Traditional Artisans And Craftspeople Of Rural And Urban India With A Financial Outlay Of 13,000 Crore Rupees.
  • The New Central Sector Scheme Aims To Strengthen And Nurture The Family-based Practice Of Traditional Skills By Artisans And Craftspeople Working With Their Hands And Tools. 
  • The Cabinet Committee On Economic Affairs Chaired By Prime Minister Narendra Modi Approved The Scheme For A Period Of Five Years.
  • Briefing Reporters In New Delhi After The Union Cabinet Meeting, Communications And It Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw Said Eighteen Traditional Trades Will Be Covered In The First Instance Under The Scheme.
  • They include Carpenters, Boat Makers, Sonar, Rajmistri, Toymaker, Lohar, And Potters. He said, The Scheme Will Provide Skill Upgradation, Toolkit Incentive, Incentive For Digital Transactions, And Marketing Support.
  • Under This Scheme, Loans Up To One Lakh Rupees Will Be Provided At A Concessional Interest Rate Of Five Percent.
  • More Than 30 Lakh Families Will Be Benefited From This Scheme.
  • Under The Pm, Vishwakarma Scheme, The Artisans And Craftspeople Will Be Provided Recognition Through The Pm Vishwakarma Certificate And Id Card.

  • The Satellite Will Take Around 109 Earth Days After Launch To Reach The Halo Orbit Called L1, Covering Over 1.5 Million Kilometres.

Sulabh International Founder Bindeshwar Pathak Died

  • Bindeshwar Pathak (2 April 1943 – 15 August 2023) Was An Indian Sociologist And Social Entrepreneur.
  • He Was The Founder Of Sulabh International, An India-based Social Service Organisation Promoting Human Rights, Environmental Sanitation, Non-conventional Sources Of Energy, Waste Management And Social Reforms Through Education.
  • He Was The Brand Ambassador For Swachh Rail Mission Of Indian Railways. He Was Conferred The Padma Bhushan, India’s Third-highest Civilian Award, In 1991.

President Approves 76 Gallantry Awards

  • President Droupadi Murmu Approved 76 Gallantry Awards To Armed Forces And Central Armed Police Forces Personnel On The Eve Of Independence Day.
  • These include Four Kirti Chakras, All Posthumous, 11 Shaurya Chakras, Including Five Posthumous, Two Bar To Sena Medals (Gallantry), 52 Sena Medals (Gallantry), Three Nao Sena Medal (Gallantry) And Four Vayu Sena Medals (Gallantry).
  • The President Has Also Approved 30 Mention in Dispatches To The Army, Including To Army Dog Madhu (Posthumous), And One To Air Force Personnel For Their Significant Contributions In Different Military Operations.
  • The Operations Include Operation Rakshak, Operation Snow Leopard, Operation Casualty Evacuation, Operation Mount Chomo, Operation Pangsau Pass, Operation Meghdoot, Operation Orchid, Operation Kalisham Valley, Rescue Operation And Operation Evacuation.
