NCC Launches Nationwide Cyber Security Programme

The National Cadet Corps (NCC), in collaboration with National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology, has launched a nationwide Cyber Security Capacity Building Programme.

The initiative was formalized through an MoU in the presence of senior officials, including Lt Gen Virendra Vats and Dr. Madan Mohan Tripathi.

Programme Structure:

1. Cyber Security Awareness Programme

  • 15-hour online training
  • Covers digital literacy, cyber hygiene, and safe internet usage

2. Cyber Defender Programme

  • 60-hour offline advanced training
  • Offered to selected cadets through a merit-based process

About NCC:

Established in 1948, NCC is the youth wing of India’s armed forces, comprising Army, Navy, and Air Force divisions. It provides basic military training to school and college students on a voluntary basis.

Over the years, NCC has expanded its inclusivity:

  • Girls Division introduced in 1949
  • Air Wing added in 1950
  • Naval Wing introduced in 1952
