DG level talks between BSF and BGB begin in Guwahati

  • In Guwahati, Assam, the 51st Director General Level Talks between Border Security Force India and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has commenced.
  • For the first time that the bi-annual Director General Level Talks between the two Border guarding forces is taking place in Assam.
  • BSF delegation is headed by the DG BSF Shri Rakesh Asthana.
  • BGB delegation is headed by the DG BGB Major General Md Shafeenul Islam.
  • They discuss various aspects and issues related to Border Management.
  • For betterment of people living on the borders of both the countries they will also deliberate upon steps being taken to strengthen the security grid in a cohesive manner.

Defence Secretary Launches DGNCC Digital Forum

  • The DGNCC Digital Forum has been launched by Defence Secretary Dr Ajay Kumar.
  • It will provide a platform to National Cadet Corps cadets all over the country to share their experiences of various NCC activities.  
  • In line with Digital India vision of the Prime Minister This NCC Digital Forum is a positive step towards digitization of NCC.
  • Director General NCC Lt General Rajeev Chopra and other senior civil and military officials of the HQ DGNCC were also present.

AFSCB Adjudged as the “Best Company Promoting Sports (Public Sector) 2020” at FICCI India Sports Awards 2020

  • Air Force Sports Control Board (AFSCB) has been annotated as the winner in the category of “Best Company Promoting Sports (Public Sector) 2020”.
  • Eminent jury has conferred AFSB with this prestigious award.
  • The jury was chaired by Justice Mudgal.
  • Air Commodore Ashutosh Chaturvedi, Chairman, AFSCB received the prestigious award from the President FICCI.
  • By the Hon’ble President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind Earlier the AFSCB was also conferred with ‘Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puruskar’.
  • For ‘Employment of Sports Persons and Sports Welfare measures’ for its contribution towards development of a sporting environment across the country.
  • Three air warriors have already qualified for the Tokyo Olympics 2021.

Mission Sagar III – INS Kiltan Arrives Ho Chi Minh City

  • INS Kiltan arrived at NhaRong Port, Ho Chi Minh City on 24 December 2020 as part of Mission Sagar-III.
  • The ship will deliver 15 Tons of HADR Stores for the flood-affected people of Central Vietnam, which will be handed over to Vietnam’s Central Steering Committee for National Disaster Prevention and Control.
  • Mission Sagar-III is being undertaken in accordance with Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of SAGAR (Security And Growth for All in the Region) and reiterates India’s position as a dependable partner, and the Indian Navy as the Preferred Security Partner and First Responder.
  • The Mission also highlights the importance accorded to ASEAN countries and further strengthens the existing bonds.

Sailing Expedition from Kochi to Androth Island Onboard INSV Bulbul (23 – 28 December 20)

  • The Indian Naval Sailing Vessel (INSV) Bulbul was flagged off from Naval Base, Kochi on 23 Dec 20 by Rear Admiral Antony George, Chief of Staff, Southern Naval Command.
  • This is being undertaken by Offshore Sailing Club, Kochi under the aegis of Southern Naval Command.
  • The aim of the sailing expedition is to inculcate a spirit of adventure, hone nautical skills and foster ocean sailing amongst young Naval personnel.
  • Team Bulbul comprises mixed crew of six officers skippered by Captain Atool Sinha, an Asian Games medalist with over 22,000 nm of ocean sailing experience.
