Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh introduced an NCC Integrated Software in New Delhi on 7 July 2023, in a major move towards encouraging digitisation and in line with the Digital India vision. The NCC Integrated Software, created in collaboration with the Bhaskaracharya Institute for Space Applications and Geo-Informatics (BISAG), is a single window interactive software for Cadets based on the ‘Entry to Exit Model’.
NCC Integrated Software
The NCC Integrated Software is based on Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of “Once a Cadet, Always a Cadet” and would digitalize the entire process from cadet enlistment in NCC to exit registration as alumni. This will allow for the seamless issuance of certificates as well as the construction of an all-India database of NCC cadets at the time of recruitment.
In the presence of Raksha Mantri, the NCC and State Bank of India (SBI) inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to open zero balance accounts for all NCC Cadets with a debit card, chequebook, and passbook facility under SBI’s “Pahli Udaan” scheme. This MoU will help around 5 lakh cadets per year. The account will be active until the end of training or the age of 18, whichever comes first. This would not only introduce cadets to the national banking system but will also give them a ready platform to take advantage of other government initiatives via DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) of monies into their accounts.

The Ministry of Defence has overhauled the physical uniform distribution procedure to make it more transparent and smooth under the Government’s DBT plan, allowing direct bank transfer of uniform allowance into the bank accounts of NCC cadets. It will take the place of the current central procurement and distribution mechanism. Uniform allowance for NCC uniform provisioning will now be sent into the bank accounts of cadets in the most remote corners of the country.
Speaking on the occasion, Raksha Mantri commended officials from the NCC, BISAG, and SBI for their efforts in digitising the NCC through the introduction of NIC and DBT. He further stated that these procedures will undoubtedly enable easy access to NCC information across the country, benefiting both current and future motivated cadets.
