As the first phase of the West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026 began, Shri G P Singh, the Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), conducted an on-site inspection of a security check post in Bankura. This visit was part of a broader initiative to ensure the safety and security of the electoral process.
During his inspection, the DG undertook a comprehensive review of the security arrangements in place, assessing the deployment at key checkpoints crucial for maintaining order throughout the election period. He carefully evaluated the readiness of the security personnel stationed there and engaged in direct conversations with those on duty to gauge their awareness and preparedness.
In his address to the troops, Shri G P Singh underscored the importance of maintaining constant vigilance and adopting a proactive approach to security. He stressed the critical role that security forces play in creating a safe and peaceful environment for voters as they head to the polls.
This inspection is part of a wider effort aimed at strengthening election security measures to preempt any disruptions and maintain law and order during the electoral process. The intention is clear: to facilitate an atmosphere where voters can freely exercise their franchise without any intimidation or fear.
The deployment of central forces across various locations emphasizes a steadfast commitment to ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections. With robust security measures actively in place, authorities are striving to safeguard the democratic process and uphold the integrity of the electoral system.
