Elbit Systems Secures $1.6 Billion Defense Deal with European Country

Israeli defense contractor Elbit Systems has entered into a significant $1.6-billion agreement to provide advanced defense technologies to a European nation over the next five years. This contract encompasses two primary categories of advanced systems, integrating the latest innovations from Elbit, including embedded Artificial Intelligence solutions.

The first category consists of long-range precision artillery and rocket systems, complemented by a suite of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). These UAVs range from small tactical platforms to larger loitering munitions, which will be utilized for various operations including surveillance, reconnaissance, and strike missions.

The second collection of technologies focuses on signal and communications intelligence (SIGINT and COMINT), alongside state-of-the-art electronic warfare equipment. This includes modern systems for intelligence collection and processing, as well as electro-optical and night-vision apparatus, plus enhancements for combat vehicles and protective systems.

In addition to these advanced technologies, Elbit Systems will deploy a fully integrated digital combat network designed to facilitate seamless connectivity among the customer’s army headquarters, frontline troops, and individual vehicles. This network employs the company’s proprietary C4ISR (command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance) technology, ensuring real-time intelligence sharing and operational coordination across various echelons of the military.

Bezhalel Machlis, CEO of Elbit Systems, emphasized that this substantial contract underscores the robust demand for the company’s advanced defense solutions in Europe. He noted Elbit’s capability to provide integrated, multi-domain solutions that meet the needs of modern defense forces. “Our comprehensive portfolio has demonstrated its effectiveness in operational environments and is trusted by users,” Machlis stated. He expressed pride in supporting a European country in enhancing its national security through this strategic alliance.

Machlis also highlighted that the agreement will involve industrial cooperation aimed at bolstering the buyer’s national industrial strengths in the relevant sectors, reinforcing the strategic partnership further.
