Lieutenant General Hitesh Bhalla, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Fire and Fury Corps, made an important visit to forward posts in Ladakh to assess the operational preparedness and combat readiness of troops stationed in this strategically significant region.
During his visit, Lt Gen Bhalla conducted a thorough evaluation of various aspects of the army’s operational posture, including the state of infrastructure and the various readiness measures implemented in the forward areas. He received comprehensive briefings on deployment patterns, surveillance capabilities, and the forces’ preparedness to respond effectively to any emerging threats in this challenging high-altitude environment.
Engaging closely with the soldiers who serve in such remote and inhospitable conditions, Lt Gen Bhalla expressed his admiration for their professionalism, endurance, and steadfast determination. He recognized the numerous physical and mental challenges faced by the troops operating at high altitudes, commending them for sustaining high morale and vigilance despite the extreme weather and tough terrain.
