A member of the 137th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Head Constable Abhishek Sharma, has been missing since May 26, 2025, raising serious concerns among his family and colleagues. His disappearance was reported after he left the CRPF center in Udhampur that morning and has not been seen or heard from since.
According to sources, Abhishek Sharma, 28, was engaged in the ministerial department of the battalion for nearly a year. He entered the CRPF premises between 6:30 and 7:00 AM on the day of his disappearance. His family reports that his mobile phone was last active at around 7:30 AM, after which it was switched off, cutting off any means of communication.
Family members arrived in Udhampur shortly after learning of the incident. His brother noted that Abhishek spoke with their mother on the night before his disappearance, sounding in good spirits with no indication of distress or trouble.
The matter has drawn attention from upper command within the CRPF, with the Commanding Officer and the entire battalion actively participating in search efforts. The family has approached the local police, where a missing person report was filed, urging investigators to scrutinize CCTV footage in hopes of uncovering any clues about Abhishek’s whereabouts.
Despite extensive search operations that have incorporated both police and CRPF personnel, no leads have surfaced thus far. The atmosphere within the battalion remains tense, as both family members and fellow officers express growing concern for the safety and well-being of the missing jawan. As efforts to locate him continue, the sense of unease remains palpable among his colleagues and loved ones.
