What is SSB Lecturette
Lecturette is one of the tests conducted during SSB interview to judge the personality of the candidates. We can say Lecturette is a small speech or a small talk given by candidate, Lecturette is conducted by GTO during group task. Here, to a candidate under SSB Lecturette topics one card is provided which contains 4 of the SSB Lecturette topics and out of 4 topics candidate has to talk on one topic for 3 minutes.
During Lecturette a candidate has the opportunity to impress GTO by presenting his/her good personality, GTO expectation from candidate – good expressions, better body language, fluency and confidence during the Lecturette. In this test being knowledgeable always has an upper-hand on the performance and to do so candidates must make himself/herself information savvy on current affair or events.
Lecturette introduction
GTO will ask candidates to give brief introduction before he/she starts SSB Lecturette topic small talk, in that candidate have to say on following:
- Name
- Where are you From
- Hobbies
- Parents profession
- What you are currently doing (Studying/Job)?
What is the procedure of conducting small talks on SSB Lecturette topics
- In the Lecturette test, all candidates will be sitting in a single row according to the chest numbers allotted to them.
- Stake of cards with each card containing 4 topics will be kept infront of the candidates on the table.
- While the rest of the group is sitting one of the candidate will be asked to come forward and pick a card with 3 or 4 SSB Lecturette topics on it.
- Candidate has to select one topic and start preparing for it in three minutes.
- After 3 minutes on GTO’s call candidate have to submit his card and come infront of the group and give the small lecture on the topic, before starting his/her lecture candidate has to give brief introduction on self.
- While one candidate is giving lecture second candidate will be ask to come and select the card and start preparing on the topic.
- As soon as first candidate lecture is over on GTO’s call second candidate has to submit his/her card and start the lecture.
- The same procedure will continue for the rest of the candidates in the group.
- A candidate must see that his/her voice is audible to everybody and the lecture is interesting, taking attention of the listeners.
