How To Join NCC And Its Benefits

NCC – National Cadet Corps was established on 15 July 1958. is the youth wing of the Indian armed forces with its headquarters in New Delhi, India. It is open to school and college students on a voluntary basis as a Tri-Services Organisation, comprising the Army, Navy, and the Air Wing, engaged in developing the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens. The soldier youth foundation in India is a voluntary organization that recruits cadets from high schools, higher secondary, colleges, and universities all over India. The Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and drills. The officers and cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course. Emblem of NCC. The Emblem of NCC consists of 3 colours; Red, Dark Blue, Light Blue. These colours indicate Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Airforce respectively.

How to Join NCC – NATIONAL CADET CORPS.

Eligibility Conditions

  1. Citizen of India or a subject of Nepal.
  2. Enrolled in an educational institution.

Age Limit

  • Junior Division/Wing (Boys/Girls) – 12 years to 18½ years
  • Senior Division/Wing (Boys/Girls) – Upto 26 years

Enrollment Period

  • Junior Division/Wing (Boys/Girls) – 2 years
  • Senior Division/Wing (Boys/Girls) – 3 years

How to Join

  • A student desirous of being enrolled in the Junior Division should apply to the Headmaster/Principal of the school in the prescribed form.
  • A student desirous of being enrolled in the Senior Division shall apply to the Officer Commanding of the nearest NCC Unit.
  • The next step is to visit the ANO office. ANO is Associate NCC Officer who has the authority to enrol you in the NCC and your are under ANO’s authority during your Training period.

Important Points.

  • First of all they will take your Written test ( most of the case when there are more number of students who want to join NCC). You have to clear the written test for further process.
  • Then there is Physical Fitness Test. Note:— you have to clear this test
  • Then, there will be Medical test. This is just normal test to know medical wellbeing not as in army and other defence forces.

After all these tests a Final Merit list will be provided in School/College. This list consists of names is Of students who are selected in NCC.

NCC is not just training, It is a beautiful Journey that is less ordinary.

Recently, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the National Cadet Corps Rally 2022 at Cariappa Ground. The Prime Minister inspected the Guard of Honour, reviewed March Past by NCC contingents and also witnessed the NCC cadets displaying their skills in army action, slithering, microlight flying, parasailing as well as cultural programmes.  The Prime Minister remembered with pride his NCC connection and credited his training as an NCC cadet for giving him the strength to carry out his responsibilities towards the nation.
