Air Marshal Vibhas Pande, Air Officer Commanding in Chief (AOC-in-C), Maintenance Command stationed here, told reporters that the aircraft tracking system will be adopted once the final experiment in the eastern sector was completed.

“One of the Base Repair Depots (BRD) under the aegis of the Air Force’s Maintenance Command has indigenously developed a real-time aircraft tracking system, wherein the Air Force can get an update on the location of a flying aircraft every 30 seconds,” he explained.

According to Air Marshal Pande, the tracking technology is satellite-based and can track an aircraft’s course. The final trial of the aircraft tracking system is currently underway in the eastern sector, and once completed, modifications will be installed in all aircraft, according to him. “Trials in other sectors are over,” he remarked.
