The Indian Air Force conducted an exercise to be specifically an emergency drill with fighter jets and transport planes conducting an emergency practice on the Purvanchal motorway airfield. District Accordingly, around 10 jets and aircraft performed a touch-and-go exercise on the airstrip, during which one AN-32 (Transport aircraft) completely landed on the airstrip.
The Exercise was an emergency exercise performed by the IAF to check the quality and strength of the airstrip so that emergency jets can easily land and take off from the airstrip. The Practice included the Mirage fighter plane, Jaguar jet, and Antonov AN-32.
The Legendary Sukhoi-30 was also part of the drill, but owing to terrible weather in Bareilly, it couldn’t make it because it was scheduled from there.
Since June 11, a section of 5 kilometres of Purvanchal motorway near Sultanpur has been under repair for the event, and all dividers have been removed from the vicinity of the airstrip for the safe and secure landing-and-go of planes. The first IAF drill was conducted on the Purvanchal motorway on November 16, 2021, just before the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.
