The Indian Army’s Dot On Target Division, part of the Sapta Shakti Command, recently organized the Inno-Yodha Competition at the Manekshaw Centre, featuring 75 indigenous innovations crafted during the 2024–25 period. This event serves as a testament to India’s escalating self-reliance in defense, particularly emphasizing advancements in drones, counter-drone technologies, IT applications, and enhancements to operational capabilities.
During the competition, military personnel showcased an impressive array of state-of-the-art systems, including vehicle-mounted weapons, handheld drones, and sophisticated counter-drone platforms. These developments underscore the Army’s commitment to utilizing homegrown solutions aimed at improving battlefield effectiveness.
Experts highlighted the strategic importance of these technologies, noting their alignment with global warfare trends and a concentrated focus on specialized capabilities such as artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and advanced sensor technologies. Before being inducted into active service, the innovations will undergo thorough evaluation processes including Research and Development, Design and Development, and projects managed by the Army Technology Board.
