A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) of the Indian Army, Subedar Surjeet Singh, was tragically killed in a shooting incident at a military camp in Samba district on Tuesday. According to officials, Subedar Singh suffered a gunshot wound while performing his operational duties in Jammu, ultimately succumbing to his injuries.

Defence officials have clarified that there is no indication of a terrorist involvement in the incident.
