In a remarkable display of bravery and quick thinking, two Indian Army personnel successfully rescued a family of three following a harrowing incident on the Jodhpur–Jaipur highway near Kaparda on Thursday morning. The rescue unfolded shortly after 8 a.m. when the family’s vehicle suffered a tire burst, causing it to overturn and plunge into a roadside ditch.
The duo—Captain Abhishek Choudhary and Naik Sri Ram—were driving on the same highway when they witnessed the terrifying accident. Without a moment’s hesitation, they stopped their vehicle and raced to the scene to assist the trapped occupants—a man, his wife, and their young son.
Upon arrival, the Army officers quickly assessed the situation. The family was still inside the car, but the doors had become jammed due to the impact of the crash. Showing remarkable presence of mind, Captain Choudhary and Naik Sri Ram, with the help of a local resident, managed to break open the doors, allowing them to reach the family.
Fortunately, the parents emerged from the ordeal with only minor injuries, thanks to their decision to wear seatbelts. However, their toddler son sustained some minor injuries as he was not buckled in at the time of the accident.
After facilitating the family’s extraction from the overturned vehicle, the officers ensured that local authorities and emergency services were notified about the incident. They stayed at the scene until they confirmed that the family had received appropriate medical attention.
The swift actions of Captain Choudhary and Naik Sri Ram not only saved lives but also showcased the unwavering commitment of the Indian Army to serve and protect civilians, exemplifying the ethos of courage and duty that lies at the heart of their mission.
