Details have emerged from Indian Army officials regarding the high-impact precision strikes carried out during Operation Sindoor on May 7, which included a dramatic intercepted communication capturing a Pakistani army commander taking refuge in a mosque during the assault. This operation targeted nine terror hubs across Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and was initiated in response to a series of coordinated drone and missile attacks launched by Pakistan earlier that month.
A senior official from the Chinar Corps, operating in the Kashmir region, reported that the strikes near Muzaffarabad were so overwhelming that the commander of Pakistan’s 75th Infantry Brigade was heard instructing his troops to prioritize survival over the defense of military infrastructure. The intercepted communication highlighted this urgency, with one message stating, “save lives first, offices can reopen later.”
Muzaffarabad, the capital of PoK, was among the multiple locations targeted under Operation Sindoor, which aimed specifically at dismantling known terror camps associated with Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The strikes reportedly resulted in over 100 terrorist casualties without affecting civilian infrastructure.
A high-ranking officer from the Chinar Corps explained that the Indian Army’s response adheres to a principle of deterrence, emphasizing a retaliatory approach of striking three times as hard for every breach of the ceasefire by Pakistan. “Our retaliation follows a 1:3 ratio,” the official stated, detailing the message intended to be conveyed across the border.
In one of the most strategically significant assaults, the Indian Army successfully destroyed all key military installations in PoK’s Leepa Valley. Officials confirmed the complete destruction of at least three military posts, an ammunition depot, a fuel storage facility, and artillery positions. This devastating retaliation is projected to impede Pakistan’s ability to rebuild for at least 8–12 months, if not longer.
The strikes formed part of a four-day military campaign that concluded with a fragile ceasefire understanding. Indian forces showcased their advanced air defense capabilities throughout the operation, effectively intercepting incoming drones and missiles launched by Pakistan. This coordinated military action has been recognized as one of the most precise and strategically impactful responses by the Indian Army in recent years.
Army officials assert that Operation Sindoor has significantly undermined Pakistan’s terror infrastructure and sends a robust signal of India’s zero-tolerance approach to cross-border terrorism.
