A significant milestone in the Indian Navy was achieved with the successful completion of Naval Architecture Course 36, marking the commissioning of seven officers into the esteemed Naval Construction Wing. The event was highlighted by a Passing Out Parade, reviewed by Rear Admiral Deepak Singhal, Chief Staff Officer (Training) of the Southern Naval Command. He extended his congratulations to the graduating officers on completing their demanding academic and military training.

During the ceremony, Sub Lieutenant SC Aryan Raj was awarded the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Southern Naval Command Gold Medal for securing the top position in the overall order of merit, while the Silver Medal was presented to Sub Lieutenant Deepanshu for achieving second place.

The newly commissioned officers underwent four years of rigorous naval training, complemented by specialized education in naval architecture and warship design. This extensive preparation equips them for vital roles in the development and maintenance of the Indian Navy’s future fleet.

As members of the Naval Construction Wing, these young officers will be instrumental in the design, construction, and modernization of indigenous warships, submarines, and various naval platforms, thereby enhancing India’s maritime capabilities.

Their commissioning coincides with the Indian Navy’s ongoing efforts to advance indigenous shipbuilding and submarine programs under the government’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative. This vision aims to bolster self-reliance in defense manufacturing, making the commissioning of these officers particularly timely.

The Passing Out Parade underscored the Indian Navy’s dedication to cultivating highly skilled technical officers who can foster innovation and support the growth of the country’s indigenous naval construction ecosystem.

With their induction, these seven Naval Constructors are set to contribute significantly to the next generation of Indian naval platforms, reinforcing the nation’s trajectory towards technological self-reliance and maritime strength.
