All About Indo-UK Naval Exercise Konkan 2021

Exercise Konkan 2021 was held between INS Tabar and HMS Westminster on 16 Aug 21 in the English Channel. The exercise included the participation of integral helicopters of the two ships and the Falcon Electronic Warfare aircraft. A wide range of exercises including coordinated anti-submarine procedures, firing drills, combined maritime picture compilation, combat formation maneuvering, and replenishment at sea was conducted.

These along with the diverse professional engagements held earlier in harbour, have enabled Exercise Konkan 2021 to consolidate interoperability and helped cement the strong bonds of friendship between the two navies.

The Indian Navy completed a four-day visit to Portsmouth with an intensive workout above, on and beneath the waves with frigate HMS Westminster in the Channel.

Recently, The UK’s carrier strike group led by the aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth has sailed into the Indian Ocean region and will carry out a wargame with the Indian Navy later this month in reflection of growing bilateral military ties.
