NDA 2020 is just around the corner and it must be giving jittery nerves and anxiety to many of you who want to clear the exam with flying colours. This year because of the Covid-19 pandemic, UPSC is going to conduct both NDA 1 2020 & NDA 2 2020 exams on the same day itself, i.e., on 6th September, 2020.
So, if you are all done with the preparations for the big day, here in this article I will discuss about some last minute tips to take in consideration before appearing for the NDA 2020 exam.
- Know your strengths and weaknesses. Know the parts you are most confident of. Also identify your weaker parts and do a quick revision of the weaker sections.
- Practice Mock Tests to revise the question types and patterns you will have to answer in your NDA exam.
- Calculate the time division per question as per the total number of marks allocated for the papers.
- Note down Maths Formulas in a notebook and revise them religiously.
- Revise the most important English grammatical rules and vocabulary words.
- Take a look into the important sections in each subject and revise the parts you are a little jittery on.
- Create your own Exam Strategy. Some people like to solve a paper from the very first question while some prefer to glance through the entire paper at first and then start by answering questions from their areas of strength.
- Take a look into the Previous Years’ Papers of NDA.
- Solve Easy questions first and then attempt harder questions later.
- Do not get stuck with one question for more than the time required. You can always come back later.
- Be confident of yourself in spite of the pre-exam anxiety. Being more than nervous in the exam is not good.
- Stay calm and positive. Try breathing exercises or meditation to feel relaxed and cool before the exam.
- Stay hydrated and try to get good sleep the night before the exam. This will keep your mind and body refreshed and focused.
This time because of the pandemic, you need to also follow some COVID-19 official guidelines. So these are some things to do as you step towards the examination hall:
- Reach the examination Venue on the day of Examination well in time.
- Carry the e-Admit card (print out) along with the (original) Photo Identity Card, whose number is mentioned in the e-Admit Card.
- Wear face mask/ face shield. Candidates without mask/face cover will not be allowed entry into the Venue.
- Carry your own hand sanitizer (small size) in transparent bottle.
- Follow COVID-19 norms of ‘social distancing’ as well as ‘personal hygiene’ inside the Examination Halls/Rooms as well as in the premises of the Venue.
I hope these useful last minute tips will help you to become stronger and more confident of yourself and score higher marks and get selected for the SSB!
All the best and Jai Hind!
