On May 12, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) issued an information request (RfI) regarding specialised high-mobility vehicles. 500 specialised high-mobility vehicles are needed by the Indian Army to protect the Line of Actual Control in the Himalayas. These vehicles ought to be equipped with guns, able to operate at altitudes greater than 17,000 feet, and shielded from hostile fire.
According to the RfI, the MoD is looking for a “protected mobility vehicle” (PMV), which should be able to operate in temperatures ranging from 40 degrees Celsius to -15 degrees Celsius, be able to carry at least 10 troops with combat loads, have an automatic transmission and 44 drive mode, and have a top speed of 80 km/h.
