NP Aerospace has officially opened a new hub in Coventry, England, aimed at enhancing vehicle armor integration services for its global defense clientele. The facility spans an impressive 80,000 square feet (7,432 square meters) and features a combination of indoor and outdoor areas designed to optimize the production, engineering, and outfitting of protective equipment at a fleet-wide level.
The center is equipped with advanced vehicle assembly and fabrication technology, customer support offices, a spare parts shop, finishing platforms, and sustainable energy solutions, all of which are critical for meeting the growing demands of the defense sector.
Located strategically near an existing armor production site in Foleshill, the new hub strengthens the UK’s defense supply chain by facilitating local talent acquisition that supports both full and partial defense systems, as well as partnerships with commercial vehicle manufacturers.
Currently, NP Aerospace is working under the Protected Mobility Engineering and Technical Support (PMETS) contract, which encompasses long-term engineering and technical services aimed at enhancing the protection and mobility of over 1,600 vehicles used by the UK Armed Forces. In 2024, NP Aerospace secured a $95-million contract to provide Conventional Vehicle Systems Spares and Post Design Services (CVSSP) for more than 15,000 land-based platforms utilized by the UK Ministry of Defence.
James Kempston, the CEO of NP Aerospace, noted that the new facility will act as a central hub for international customers, significantly aiding the continuous delivery of vehicle and armor export programs. He emphasized the importance of the facility for fulfilling major contracts, such as PMETS and CVSSP, while reinforcing essential onshore defense capabilities for the future.
The inauguration of this hub marks a significant step in NP Aerospace’s commitment to supporting the defense sector both domestically and internationally, solidifying its role in enhancing vehicle protection solutions.
