On May 28, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate the new multibillion-dollar Parliament building. The four-story structure can accommodate roughly 1,200 MPs. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and invited him to the inauguration of the new Parliament building. “The new building represents the spirit of self-reliance in India or Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” the ministry stated in a statement.

Earlier, it was stated that a major celebration to open the new structure was planned for the ninth anniversary of the Modi government. On May 26, 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the oath of office. PM Modi lay the foundation stone for the new Parliament building in December 2020. The new structure is part of the Central Vista project, which is the nation’s power corridor.
Tata Projects has built the new Parliament building, which has a large constitution hall to exhibit India’s democratic legacy, a lounge for members of Parliament, a library, various committee rooms, dining places and enough parking space. Marshals of both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha will wear new attire in the new parliament. The present building can accommodate only 543 Members in Lok Sabha and 250 in the Rajya Sabha. The new Parliament will be able to seat 888 members in the Lok Sabha and 300 in Rajya Sabha.
The BJP has planned a month-long outreach effort to mark the ninth anniversary of its rule at the Centre, including a rally by Prime Minister Modi and 51 public engagements by senior leaders. The campaign is set to begin on May 30, the day PM Modi took the oath of office for his second term as prime minister in 2019 and would last until June 30, according to PTI. PM Modi is expected to address a gathering on May 30 or May 31 to kick off the activity.
