Hello everyone, myself Kartik Tiwari from the Palamu district of Jharkhand. I recently got a recommendation for NDA 150th course from 11 SSB ALLAHABAD with AIR 131. This was my 4th SSB and all were for NDA entries. I think many aspirants will find connected with my story of being from a village, not attending coaching (both SSB and written), being from a civil and lower middle-class background with no NCC, no extracurricular achievements, average academics and repeated failures. So, telling about my journey, I got to know about NDA in standard 11th and then I decided that yes this is the place where I have to be.

But it was not a smooth sail and I experienced a lot of Ups and downs, with results

NDA 146- Conference out
NDA 147- missed written by 0.75 marks
NDA 148- Screened out
NDA 149- Conference out
NDA 150- Recommendation.
NDA 151- again cleared written

As I cleared written 5 times, some special tips from my side –

Try to cover all chapters and topics
Practice is king, solve as much as you can.
Many questions get repeated, so complete at least 10 years PYQs.
For GAT, try solving questions of CDS and CAPF. Believe me, it will help you a lot.

So, now coming towards the SSB interview part, 56 candidates reported on Day 1st. As I did enough practice of OIR through the SSBCRACKEXAMS OIR booklet consisting of 20 sets, I performed pretty well in that and solved all questions of both sets. In PPDT, I made a very simple story and used the time gap before discussion in practising narration and believe me it helped a lot and I gave a loud, confident and fluent narration. In the discussion, I added some valuable points and in 2 minutes discussion got over.

The result was announced and 26 out of 56 including me got screened in. On day 2, the Psych test was conducted and I wrote all TATs, 57 WATs, and 42 SRT. This time my TAT stories were pretty good, and after completing the test, I realised that I gave my best. After 2 hours my personal interview was also scheduled with the President of the board, so I prepared myself for it and went there. My interview went for 50 minutes and revolved mostly around PIQ and general awareness. I was grilled on various topics, but this time I kept myself calm and composed and gave confident answers.

On day 3 and day 4, group tasks were conducted and we were a group of 6 ( only 6 repeaters were there).
In group discussions and GPE, I gave logical and constructive points and cooperated with the group. In-ground tasks, I gave a few ideas and implemented them in a good manner. I crossed 9 obstacles in IO and my lecturette was also normal.

My command task was all about physics theories and I was asked 8-10 questions of physics in it. The interesting part is, I was told by the assessor to solve the task and at the same time explain various physics theories. I literally enjoyed that and solved the task. The rest of the time we enjoyed ourselves with group members, played games and make good memories.

On the 5th day, Conference was conducted, I waited for 2-3 minutes, and after entering I was asked some questions related to Geography and it went for around 3 minutes. Finally, it was time for results, we were sitting in a hall, and an officer comes and starts announcing Chest no 1, and the next Chest No. 5 KARTIK TIWARI. My body got numbed for a few seconds but soon went to seventh heaven. The journey which started on 6th September 2020 finally came to its actual destiny on 17th January 2023. All hard work, sacrifices, and commitments had got their actual price with a shining + sign on the chest.
