In a remarkable achievement highlighting its prestigious legacy, the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) in Dehradun has firmly established itself as a leading institution for the cultivation of future military leaders. Cadet Imon Ghosh from West Bengal has achieved All India Rank 1 in the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy (NDA/NA) Examination (II) 2024, organized by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
This accolade represents not only a significant personal milestone for Cadet Ghosh but also a testament to RIMC’s enduring commitment to excellence in military education. The college’s rigorous academic curriculum, disciplined environment, and comprehensive mentorship continue to mold exemplary individuals dedicated to serving the nation.
RIMC’s impressive performance in the recent UPSC examination is further underscored by the fact that 28 of its cadets successfully cleared the final selections, the highest number from any single institution across the country. This considerable accomplishment is indicative of the college’s structured training programs and its longstanding tradition of fostering leadership skills among its students.

Among notable mentions, five RIMC cadets secured positions in the top 20 All India Ranks:
– Imon Ghosh – AIR 1
– Kartik Pant – AIR 5
– Brahma Swarup Das – AIR 14
– Shravan Agarwal – AIR 15
– Aditya Raj – AIR 17
Overall, 10 cadets from RIMC placed within the top 100, a commendable feat that sets a new benchmark for military preparatory institutions across India.
The consistent success of RIMC cadets can be attributed to strong leadership and a steadfast commitment to academic and ethical excellence. Under the guidance of Commandant Col Rahul Agarwal, and working under the Army Training Command, RIMC has continually raised its standards, fostering a culture of excellence among its cadets.

Col Agarwal expressed pride in the accomplishments of the cadets, remarking, “At RIMC, excellence is a daily discipline and ‘Bal aur Vivek’—Valour and Wisdom—remains our guiding principle.”
This extraordinary performance also owes much to the dedication of a team of educators and mentors, including Mr. P.K. Jain and Col Hari Bisht, who have been instrumental in preparing cadets for the SSB Interview process and providing comprehensive career mentoring. Their rigorous academic coaching and strategic guidance in UPSC subjects played a crucial role in the cadets’ success.
Established with the vision of preparing young men for entry into the National Defence Academy and the Indian Armed Forces, RIMC has steadfastly pursued its mission. The institution emphasizes not only academic and physical prowess but also instills core values of patriotism, discipline, and leadership in its cadets.
As RIMC celebrates this significant achievement in the NDA (II) 2024 results, it remains resolutely committed to nurturing courageous, competent, and ethically sound leaders for the service of the nation.
