SMARTSHOOTER Secures $13 Million Contract for Advanced Fire Control Solutions for US Army

SMARTSHOOTER has announced the successful acquisition of a $13-million contract to supply its SMASH 2000L advanced fire control systems to the US Army. These advanced devices, known as SMASH 3000s, represent the lightest handheld fire control solution available from the company. They leverage a combination of artificial intelligence, computer vision, and sophisticated tracking algorithms to enhance the effectiveness of rifle units during assault operations.

Measuring just 164 millimeters (6 inches) in length and weighing 740 grams (1.6 pounds), the SMASH 2000L units are powered by a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery, capable of supporting operations for up to 72 hours before needing a recharge. This makes them particularly valuable in the field, allowing for extended use without extensive logistical support.

The introduction of these devices comes as part of the US Army’s “Transformation In Contact” project, which aims to foster rapid testing and integration of cutting-edge technologies for modern warfare scenarios. The contract’s operational work will take place at SMARTSHOOTER’s American subsidiary based in Virginia.

SMARTSHOOTER asserts that the SMASH 2000L delivers “unmatched accuracy” against a range of targets, including both ground and aerial threats, such as autonomous drones. The fire control system boasts a proven track record, having been effectively utilized by the Israel Defense Forces during their operations against Hamas in Gaza, and it is currently in use by various NATO forces in addition to the US military.

In this latest round of procurement, the devices will primarily be issued to dismounted combat formations within the US Army tasked with counter-drone operations. Michal Mor, CEO of SMARTSHOOTER, expressed pride in the partnership with the US Army, emphasizing that the SMASH technology empowers soldiers with cutting-edge fire control capabilities designed to ensure precision even in complex and high-pressure environments. The contract represents a significant milestone toward broader deployment across the Army, and the company is dedicated to supporting this critical initiative.
