During the North Tech Symposium 2026 held in Prayagraj, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced significant advancements in the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor, with ongoing implementation of investment proposals exceeding ₹35,000 crore. This ambitious initiative aligns with the national vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
The Chief Minister highlighted the state’s considerable strides in defence manufacturing, pointing to key developments in areas such as BrahMos missiles, advanced weapon systems, small arms, precision instruments, and military textiles. He emphasized that Uttar Pradesh is on its way to becoming a prominent defence production hub within India.
Adityanath attributed this progress to a robust ecosystem that includes micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), a skilled workforce, and significant improvements in infrastructure, all of which have been pivotal in driving growth within the corridor. The state government’s policy initiatives, along with its commitment to fostering an industry-friendly environment, have successfully attracted substantial investments into the defence sector.
The symposium’s theme, “Raksha Triveni Sangam,” was highlighted by the Chief Minister as a platform that facilitates the convergence of technology, knowledge, and innovation. By bringing together representatives from the armed forces, industry leaders, startups, and academic institutions, the event aims to forge stronger collaboration within the defence ecosystem.
This initiative is anticipated to bolster India’s indigenous defence capabilities, reduce reliance on foreign imports, and create job opportunities, thereby positioning Uttar Pradesh as a pivotal player in the nation’s self-reliant defence landscape.
