The Young Officers Course at the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE) in Mhow concluded on June 1, 2026, marking a significant milestone in the preparation of military leaders ready to tackle the challenges of modern warfare. This rigorous training program brought together officers from the Indian Army as well as representatives from various friendly nations, including Cameroon, Mongolia, Namibia, Kyrgyzstan, Lesotho, Ivory Coast, and Eswatini.
The culmination of the course featured an Award Presentation Ceremony presided over by Lieutenant General Ulhas Kirpekar, AVSM, SM, who serves as the Director General of Financial Planning and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Signals. In his address, Lt Gen Kirpekar congratulated the awardees and commended the young officers for their exemplary professionalism, dedication, and commitment to excellence.
He underscored the growing importance of technological expertise and adaptability within the context of multi-domain warfare, emphasizing that these skills are crucial for operational readiness. The ceremony notably recognized Lieutenant Yash Vardhan, who achieved the prestigious Plaque of Honour and the Thru Medal for attaining First Position in the Overall Order of Merit, highlighting his outstanding performance throughout the course.
