Ex Tiger Triumph – 25

  • The Fourth edition of the bilateral Tri-Service India-US Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Exercise, Tiger Triumph, is scheduled to take place on the Eastern Seaboard from April 1 to April 13, as per the Indian Navy.
  • The Indian Navy noted that the exercise aims to develop interoperability for conducting HADR operations and formulating Standard Operating Procedures to establish a Combined Coordination Center that would enable rapid and smooth coordination between Indian and US Joint Task Forces during exercises, crises, and contingencies.
  • Notably, the Indian side would be represented by Indian Naval Ships Jalashwa, Gharial, Mumbai and Shakti along with integral helicopters and landing crafts embarked, Long Range Maritime Patrol Aircraft P8I, Army Troops from 91 Infantry Brigade and 12 Mechanical Infantry Battalion, Air Force C-130 Aircraft and MI-17 Helicopters, along with the Rapid Action Medical Team (RAMT).
  • The US side would be represented by US Navy Ships Comstock and Ralph Johnson, with troops of the US Marine Division embarked.
  • Upon the completion of the Harbour Phase, the ships with troops embarked would sail for a sea phase and undertake maritime, amphibious and HADR operations off Kakinada.
  • The IAF RAMT and the US Navy medical team would also establish a joint medical camp for providing medical aid. The exercise would culminate with a closing ceremony on board the US Navy Ship Comstock on April 13 at Visakhapatnam.

Multi-nation Air Exercise INIOCHOS-25

  • IAF will be participating in Exercise INIOCHOS-25, a prestigious multi-national air exercise hosted by the Hellenic Air Force. The exercise will take place at Andravida Air Base, Greece, from 31 March 2025 to 11 April 2025.
  • The IAF contingent will include Su-30 MKI fighters along with combat enabler IL-78 & C-17 aircraft.
  • INIOCHOS is a biennial multinational air exercise hosted by the Hellenic Air Force. It serves as a platform for air forces to hone their skills, exchange tactical knowledge, and strengthen military ties.
  • IAF’s participation in INIOCHOS-25 reflects its commitment to global defence cooperation and operational excellence. The exercise will further reinforce India’s strategic partnerships-and bolster its capabilities in joint operations with friendly nations

Operation Brahma

  • In the aftermath of the devastating earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand on 28 Mar 25, the Government of India has launched Operation Brahma for rendering assistance to Myanmar.
  • INS Satpura and Savitri, from the Eastern Naval Command, have sailed for Yangon on 29 Mar 25, as part of the Indian Navy’s immediate response towards Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR).In addition, Indian Navy Ships Karmuk and LCU 52 from the Andaman and Nicobar Command will also be sailing for Yangon on 30 Mar 25, to assist in the HADR operations.
  • The Indian Navy remains committed to India’s resolve to remain the ‘First Responder’ in the region.

Project UDAN

  • In a landmark move to strengthen regional connectivity the Civilian Aviation Ministry, launched its aircraft BOEING-737 flight from Kolkata- Hindon – Goa on        01 March 2025.
  • Hindon airport is located in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Due to its strategic location dual use capabilities, military infrastructure and capacity to handle diverse air traffic, it is a crucial asset for the nation.
  • Introduction of flights from Hindon will go a long way in decongesting air traffic in NCR.
  • This flight under UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Naagrik) project is a testament to the Indian Air Force’s commitment to supporting both military and civilian air operations, facilitating improved access to varied locations.

  • The Army Commanders’ Conference is being held in New Delhi from 01 – 04 April, 2025. The conference serves as a platform for senior leadership of the Indian Army officials to review and assess the overall security situation and deliberate on key operational priorities to deal with emerging challenges.
  • Rajnath Singh, Hon’ble Raksha Mantri will chair the Hon’ble Raksha Mantri Session and will deliver the keynote address. The session will also include a presentation on Indian Army’s focus in the ‘Year of Reforms
