Conti Federal Modernizes F-35 Sustainment Facility at NASJRB Fort Worth

Conti Federal has successfully completed the modernization of a vital F-35 sustainment facility at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base (NASJRB) in Fort Worth, Texas. This significant upgrade pertains specifically to the Maintenance Hangar Building 1643, enhancing the operational capabilities of the U.S. Air Force’s 301st Fighter Wing. This wing is responsible for on-call response duties utilizing both F-16 Fighting Falcons and the more advanced F-35 Lightning IIs.

The contract for the renovation, valued at $8.4 million, was awarded to Conti Federal in February 2023. The project has included a comprehensive range of upgrades to the hangar’s infrastructure, targeting critical areas such as lighting, power systems, partition walls, flooring, piping, and water supply systems. Furthermore, the renovation involved the construction of various essential facilities including a utility room, an egress shop, a communications room, a breakroom, and a fire suppression room.

These enhancements are poised to bolster the functionality and safety of the 301st Fighter Wing’s operations, addressing the long-term operational needs associated with modern aircraft maintenance and readiness. Christopher Conerly, Project Executive at Conti Federal, emphasized the importance of this renovation by noting that it marks a crucial milestone both for the company and for the 301st Fighter Wing. He remarked, “This renovation not only enhances the efficiency and safety of the hangar but also reinforces NASJRB Fort Worth’s ability to support the next generation of aircraft. Our team is honored to continue our commitment to delivering high-quality infrastructure for the United States Air Force.”

In addition to the updates made at Hangar 1643, Conti Federal is currently involved in additional construction projects at NASJRB, including the development of F-35A Flight Simulator and Squadron Operations/Aircraft Maintenance facilities, as well as upgrades to a loading dock. These ongoing efforts underscore the company’s dedication to strengthening the operational capabilities of the Air Force at this key military installation.
