In a significant demonstration of operational readiness and inter-agency collaboration, Rajesh Kumar Singh, IAS, Defence Secretary of India, and Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Southern Command, recently observed the successful conclusion of Exercise TATRAKSHA. This extensive multi-agency exercise was focused on enhancing the coordination of security forces in coastal and creek operations.
Spanning a rigorous three-week period, Exercise TATRAKSHA involved joint participation from the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, Indian Coast Guard, Border Security Force, and Gujarat Marine Police, with essential support from the civil administration. The exercise aimed to simulate responses to complex security situations within coastal and creek environments. Key objectives included fostering rapid decision-making, establishing joint surveillance capabilities, and achieving synchronized operational execution among the diverse forces.
The drills conducted during the exercise highlighted impressive operational synergy among the various agencies, showcasing a strong military-civil fusion and high levels of inter-agency coordination.
