Rajnath Singh attended Combined Graduation Parade at Airforce Academy in Dundigal on December 19. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reviewed the Officer of the passing out parade. He was accorded the Guard of Honour at Airforce Academy.

The current 206th course also happens to be the 100th course to pass out from the portals of AFA which will be celebrating its golden jubilee in 2021. The Airforce Academy performed the graduation parade of the 100th Course in front of the Defence Minister.

He has conferred the ‘President’s Commission’ to the graduating trainees. The ceremony includes the presentation of ‘Wings’ and ‘Brevets’ to the flight cadets who would be successfully completing flying and navigation training, respectively. Mr. Singh will also be awarded ‘Wings’ to officers of the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, and officers from friendly foreign countries on successful completion of their flying training at the AFA.

The Flight Cadet Ashish Khatri from flying branch standing ‘first in the order of merit’ has been awarded the ‘Chief of the Air Staff Sword’ of honour for excelling in overall training. The awardee has commanded the parade besides receiving the President’s Plaque for being the ‘best trainee’. President’s Plaque will also be presented to those who stand first in the overall merit in flying and ground duty branches.

The event witnesses aerobatic display by the SU-30 aircraft, the famous Surya Kiran aerobatic team, Sarang helicopter display team, Pilatus PC-7 trainer and a fly past by formations of PC-7, Kiran and Hawk aircraft.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on December 19 remembered episodes of gallantry and said that from the Battle of Longewala in 1971 to the recent Balakot airstrikes, all these episodes will be considered as golden chapters in our country’s history. “The Indian Air Force has a glorious history. It has always displayed episodes of gallantry. From the Battle of Longewala in 1971 to the recent Balakot airstrikes, all these episodes will be considered as golden chapters in our country’s history,” said Defence Minister Singh at the Combined Graduation Parade at Airforce Academy in Hyderabad.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on December 19 said that even after losing 4 wars, Pakistan still fighting proxy wars through terror. “In the western sector, our neighbor Pakistan keeps on doing nefarious acts on the border. Even after losing 4 wars, they’re still fighting proxy wars through terror. I would like to felicitate the security forces who alertly counter these attempts,” said Defence Minister Singh at the Combined Graduation Parade at Airforce Academy in Hyderabad.
