AFCAT 2 2024 Official Notification and Exam Date

Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is conducted twice every year by the Indian Air Force (IAF) to recruit candidates for the Class-I Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duties (Technical and Non-Technical). It is an exam for both male and female candidates for both Short Service Commission in Flying Branch and Short Service Commission in Ground Duties for both Technical and Non-Technical roles.

AFCAT 2 2024 Exam Notification

Online applications are invited for the courses commencing in July 2025 for grant of Short Service Commission in Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches. Online applications are also invited for NCC Special Entry Scheme (For flying branch) IAF has released the notification of AFCAT 2 2024. Candidates can apply for AFCAT from 30 May 2024.

IAF has released the notification of AFCAT 2 2024 for flying, technical, weapon systems, administration, logistics, accounts, education, meteorology, and NCC Special Entry Flying (NCC Air Wing ‘C’ certificate is required) branches for 304 Vacancies in AFCAT 2 2024.

AFCAT 2 2024 Age Eligibility – Flying Branch

•20 to 24 years as on 1st July 2025 i.e., born between 2nd July 2001 to 1st July 2005. (Both dates inclusive)

•Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial

Pilot Licence issued by DGCA is relaxable upto 26 years i.e., born b/w 2nd July 1999 to 1st July 2025 . (Both dates inclusive)

Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical) 20 to 26 years as on 1st July 2025 i.e., born between 2nd July 1999 to 1st July 2005. (Both dates inclusive)

AFCAT 2 2024 Educational Qualifications – Flying

•Graduate with minimum 60% marks in graduation & minimum 50% marks in Maths and Physics in 10+2 in 12th standard.

•B.Tech/ B.E candidates who have scored a minimum of 60% marks & minimum 60% marks in Maths and Physics in 10+2 in 12th standard. Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

B.Tech/ B.E degree with minimum 60% marks or cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in notified streams as mentioned in the official notification of the IAF & minimum 50% marks each in Physics and Maths in 10+2 standard.

AFCAT 2 2024 Educational Qualifications – GD Non-Tech

Weapon Systems (WS) Branch– Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and Graduation from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. OR BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
