Axiscades Technologies has made a significant leap in its involvement in India’s military modernisation efforts, recently securing defence orders totaling ₹600 crore through its subsidiaries. This latest influx represents almost one-third of the company’s current order book, which is valued at approximately ₹1,800 crore.
The contracts encompass a diverse range of domains, including airborne, naval, and radar systems, with execution expected over the next three to five years. The company considers these projects crucial for both prototyping and full-scale production, ultimately contributing to the long-term capability development of India’s armed forces.
Awarded by various defence laboratories and public sector undertakings, the orders include the development of high-precision sub-systems pivotal to ongoing initiatives led by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and other strategic agencies.
Among the key programs covered under these orders are:
-
AESA Radar Program for Su-30 MKI Upgrade: Axiscades is tasked with developing and supplying essential radar sub-systems, including the Exciter Unit, Receiver Unit, and Antenna Beam Control Motherboard. These components are designed to replace existing Russian-origin systems, thereby advancing India’s indigenous radar capabilities.
-
Transmit-Receive Modules for S-Band Surveillance Radars: The company will also design and furnish TR modules to enhance target detection, tracking precision, and signal fidelity for long-range surveillance operations.
-
Long-Range Battle Management Radar (LRBMR) – KUSHA: This order includes support for the development of indigenous Digital Beam Forming units. The radar, operating in the S-band, boasts a detection range that exceeds 500 km and is capable of tracking multiple targets concurrently.
-
Electric Heavy Weight Torpedo (EHWT): Axiscades will supply the Homing Receiver, a vital component enabling autonomous underwater target acquisition for submarine-launched anti-submarine warfare torpedoes.
- Submarine Sonar Systems: This production order underlines the company’s expanding role in undersea warfare technologies by providing critical sonar sub-systems.
In response to this significant development, Axiscades CTO C Manikandan emphasized that the orders highlight the company’s core competencies in radar, sonar, and electronic systems, underscoring its deep integration into India’s premier defence research and production ecosystem.
These contracts are expected to bolster India’s self-reliance in high-end defence technologies, marking a crucial advancement in the nation’s pursuit of indigenous defence manufacturing.
