15 Body Language Tips To Remember During Your Next SSB Interview

Body language, a way to present your officer-like personality without speaking or doing anything. Elite people carry unique personality that is reflected by their body language, If you want to be one you must behave like one. Whenever a candidate is performing a task in the SSB, his body language is the first thing that tends to come under the observation of an assessor.

Through a candidate’s body language, the officer assesses his liveliness, morale, ability to think under pressure, mental stability, activeness, observing skills, etc. There are some points mentioned below that candidates are advised to take care of during their next SSB interview.

  1. Talking about personal interview, walk into the interview room wearing a light smile on your face that shows your confidence and liveliness.
  2. Do not offer handshake from your side, let the officer offer and do not hold his hand firm or very loose, go with a warm and general one.
  3. Only sit on the chair when you are asked to do so and thank the officer sitting in front of you.
  4. Sitting posture matters a lot, do not sit stiff as you will not be able to sit for much time and your back will start paining. Best posture is to sit on the chair first and push your back towards the chair, by doing this you will be comfortable for long time.
  5. Do not tap your feet, roll your eyes, use extra hand gestures or look at the floor or ceiling as it shows the lack of confidence in a candidate.

  10. Be obedient and good listener too. Do not try to show that much through extra nodding your head rather show it through your actions, as they are smart to recognise your qualities easily. So focus on your actions than words and gestures.
  11. In case you are not selected for the next level do not speak bad mouth of word or make dull and negative expressions, as it will low down your own confidence. Use this time to write each and everything you have done in SSB so that you can go home and analyse where you went wrong.
  12. If you have any doubt or confusion, do not make confused or blank faces, smartly stand up or wait for the right time to clear your doubt. But do not raise too much doubts as it shows your low power to understand things quickly and sharpness of mind.
  13. Laugh with others not on others, Perform your best but never laugh at someone if somebody is performing something wrong, remember you are under observation . Laughing on someone reflects sarcastic behaviour of a candidate that leaves a bad impression about him.
