Convocation Ceremony Of 143th NDA Course held at National Defence Acadamy

The Convocation ceremony of the 143rd NDA course was held at Habibullah Hall, NDA on 29 November 2022. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Prof. Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit, Vice Chancellor, of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

233 cadets were conferred the degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University which included 65 cadets in the Science stream, 89 cadets in Computer Science stream & 60 cadets in Arts stream. 19 cadets from friendly foreign countries were also awarded degrees during the programme. In addition, the B Tech stream comprising of 95 cadets of Navy and Air Force cadets also received a ‘three years course completion’ certificate as these Naval and Air Force cadets will be conferred with the degree after completion of one-year training at their respective pre-commissioning training academics i.e. Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala and Air Force Academy, Hyderabad, respectively.

Vice Admiral Ajay Kochhar, Commandant, NDA, welcomed the Chief Guest. The Autumn Term-2022 academic report was presented. In her convocation address, the Chief Guest congratulated the passing out course cadets on successfully completing their grueling training from one of the world’s premier training academics.

Cadet Sergeant Major Arpit Kumar of the Golf Squadron won first place in the Science Stream with an FGPA of 7.72 and was presented with the Commandant’s Silver Medal and COAS rolling Trophy by General K Sundarji, PVSM (Retd).

Divisional Cadet Captain Akashi Aswan of Juliet Squadron won first place in the Computer Science Stream with an FGPA of 8.25, receiving the Commandant’s Silver Medal and the Admiral’s Rolling Trophy from Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Suresh Mehta, PVSM, AVSM, ADC.

Cadet Nishant Sharma of Juliet Squadron won first place in the Social Science Stream with an FGPA of 7.61, receiving the Commandant’s Silver Medal as well as the CAS Trophy from Air Chief Marshal NC Suri, PVSM, AVSM, VM (Retd).

Divisional Cadet Captain Amir Upadhyay of Foxtrot Squadron finished first in the B. Tech stream with a CGPA of 7.91 during the six-semester training at NDA and was awarded the Commandant’s Silver Medal and the CISC Trophy by HQ IDS.
