Operation Chakra 2

  • The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in India has launched a major crackdown on cyber criminals, conducting searches in 76 locations across the country.
  • This operation, known as ‘Operation Chakra-2’, was initiated after the registration of five separate cases of cyber-enabled financial fraud, including a ₹100-crore crypto scam.
  • ₹100-Crore Cryptocurrency Scam One of the cases under investigation involves a cryptocurrency fraud scheme that resulted in a loss of over ₹100 crore to Indian victims.
  • The fraudsters operated under the guise of a fake cryptocurrency mining operation, deceiving unsuspecting Indian citizens.
  • The CBI is collaborating with various international law enforcement agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the United States, INTERPOL’s Cyber Crime Directorate and IFCACC, the National Crime Agency (NCA) in the United Kingdom, the Singapore Police Force, and the BKA in Germany to follow leads related to the cases.
  • Operation Chakra-1 was conducted by the CBI nearly a year ago in coordination with INTERPOL, the FBI, and police forces of multiple countries. During this operation, searches were conducted at 115 locations across various states.

Assam CM Inaugurated ‘Shraddhanjali’

  • Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated Assam’s second Longest, Shraddhanjali flyover in Guwahti.
  • Signifying a momentous stride in the state’s infrastructure development, achieved within an impressive 60-day timeframe.
  • This remarkable feat is especially notable as it was accomplished 300 days ahead of the initial schedule.
  • The ‘Shraddhanjali’ flyover, spanning 2.28 kilometers and connecting Commerce Point with Sundrapur on RG Baruah Road, is now recognized as the state’s second longest flyover.
  • Its inauguration coincided with the announcement of a comprehensive citywide CCTV project, aiming to install 2,000 surveillance cameras across the city by August of the following year.

Dhordo Village Best Tourism Village UNWTO

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the Dhordo village in Kutch district of Gujarat for being awarded as the Best Tourism Village by the United Nations World Tourism Organization.
  • Dhordo in Kutch being celebrated for its rich cultural heritage and natural beauty.
  • Prime Minister said, this honour not only showcases the potential of Indian tourism but also the dedication of the people of Kutch in particular.

Anthurium Festival

  • In Mizoram, a two-day-long Anthurium Festival began with all festivities and enthusiasm at Reiek in Mamit District. The festival is being organized by the Department of Tourism of Mizoram.
  • Tourism is an important sector for income generation for the overall development of the state. It also provides an avenue for employment to the youth.
  •  Tourists preferred to go to villages rather than towns and cities. Tourists wish to explore the unique culture, traditions, and religion of the people. He therefore advocated for responsible and sustainable tourism.

  • Jina Mahsa Amini and the Iranian “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement were awarded this prestigious prize, joining the ranks of remarkable past recipients like Malala Yousafzai and Nelson Mandela.
  • Mahsa Amini, a young woman of only 22, passed away on September 16, 2022, while in the custody of Iran’s religious police. Her alleged offense was a breach of the Islamic republic’s strict dress code for women.
  • Her untimely death galvanized global attention and support for the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement.
  • The Sakharov Prize is accompanied by a €50,000 endowment and holds a prominent place in recognizing individuals and movements that champion human rights and freedom.

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Lab

  • The state-of-art RPA lab has been built under the Future Skill PRIME Project funded by MeitY with an objective to upskill/reskill manpower in emerging technology of RPA.
  • This is the First-of-its-kind lab in Uttar Pradesh under Future Skill PRIME Project, which has been established to bridge the gap between Industry and Academia.

Karthikeyan Murali’s Victory Over Magnus Carlsen

  • In Qatar Masters, the 24-year-old Indian chess grandmaster, Karthikeyan Murali, became the third Indian player to beat the world’s number one player, Magnus Carlsen in classical chess.
