DRDO Hands Over 12 Licensing Agreements to Industry Partners

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) handed over 12 Licensing Agreements for Transfer of Technology (LATOTs) related to eight innovative products to various Indian industries. The ceremony took place during the inaugural session of Samanvay 2025, a two-day industry synergy event organised by DRDO’s Electronics and Communication Systems (ECS) cluster in Bengaluru.
Virtually inaugurating the event, Dr. Samir V. Kamat, Secretary of the Department of Defence R&D and Chairman of DRDO, highlighted that the collaboration between innovation and industry would strengthen India’s path toward self-reliance in defence manufacturing.
The event featured ten sessions focusing on MSMEs, start-ups, and development-cum-production partnerships, underscoring DRDO’s goal of building a robust defence ecosystem in the country.

Istanbul Talks Between Afghanistan and Pakistan Collapse

Diplomatic negotiations held in Istanbul to ease tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan ended without any agreement after four days of intense discussions. The talks, facilitated by Turkish and Qatari officials, aimed to restore stability following a string of border clashes.
While the Afghan delegation reaffirmed its commitment to prevent the use of its soil for attacks against Pakistan, it also demanded that Islamabad stop airspace violations and halt U.S. drone operations within Afghan territory. Pakistan rejected these demands, causing a breakdown in the dialogue.
Analysts described the collapse as a significant diplomatic setback that deepened mistrust between the two neighbours and further clouded the prospects for peace and regional stability.

India and China Hold 23rd Commander-Level Talks at Moldo-Chushul

Senior military commanders from India and China convened the 23rd round of Corps Commander-Level talks at the Moldo-Chushul border meeting point on the Indian side of the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
Both sides held detailed discussions on maintaining stability along the western sector of the border and on improving mechanisms to avoid escalation in sensitive zones.
The meeting followed the guidance of the consensus reached by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping during the 16th BRICS Summit in Kazan (2024), which had earlier helped ease border tensions. The talks were described as “active and constructive,” reflecting continued efforts toward restoring peace along the LAC.

President Droupadi Murmu Undertakes Historic Rafale Sortie

President Droupadi Murmu, the Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed Forces, made history by flying in a Rafale fighter jet from the Ambala Air Force Base in Haryana. This marked the first-ever sortie by an Indian President in the advanced multirole combat aircraft.
She was accompanied by Flight Lieutenant Shivangi Singh, the first woman pilot to operate the Rafale. The sortie demonstrated the agility and operational readiness of the Indian Air Force’s 17 Squadron “Golden Arrows,” which played a major role during Operation Sindoor, India’s precision strike mission earlier this year.
President Murmu’s flight served as a symbol of India’s growing air power and women’s increasing role in frontline defence operations.

Pravaig Dynamics Unveils VEER – India’s New Military Electric Vehicle

Bengaluru-based Pravaig Dynamics has introduced the VEER, an electric all-terrain vehicle designed for special operations, reconnaissance, and patrol missions. The vehicle, now near production stage, has successfully passed extensive military field trials and received recognition under the Ministry of Defence’s iDEX programme.
Powered by dual electric motors producing 620 Nm of torque, the VEER can reach speeds up to 120 km/h while maintaining low noise and minimal thermal signatures, ensuring stealth in tactical missions. Its modular chassis allows quick repairs and adaptability in combat conditions.
The unveiling of VEER represents a major step in integrating next-generation electric mobility into India’s defence ecosystem, aligning with the nation’s push for sustainable and high-tech military platforms.
