On Saturday, Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh warned Pakistan that anyone seeking to hurt the country will face a retaliatory response. He further claimed that the Left-Wing Extremism (LWE) would have been exterminated from the country if the Congress government in Chhattisgarh had “cooperated fully” when speaking at a rally in the Maoist-affected Kanker district of Chhattisgarh. He also claimed that the frequency of forced religious conversions in the state had grown.
Raksha Mantri on Pakistan
Rajnath Singh argued that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India had become a powerful and no longer a weak country in reaction to the terrorist incidents in Uri (2016) and Pulwama (2019). “Some terrorists from Pakistan infiltrated India and attacked our Jawans, killing many of them.” I was the home minister at the time. The Prime Minister convened a meeting in Delhi and made a decision in 10 minutes. “Our army Jawans were successful in neutralising terrorists on Pakistani soil,” he claimed.
“I want to tell my neighbour that he should not mess with India or provoke us.” We will not just kill from this side; if necessary, we will invade and kill from the other side (across the border). “India has changed,” Mr Singh continued.
Pakistan has conveyed serious reservations to the US over India and the US strengthening defence cooperation. Pakistani officials, according to media reports, consider this development a direct danger to the country’s security interests. Pakistan informed the US through diplomatic channels that delivering cutting-edge military weapons to India without taking Pakistan’s concerns into account would jeopardise strategic stability and the conventional balance in the South Asian area.
Several agreements were reached between the two countries during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent official visit to the United States, primarily in the security and business sectors. In one unique collaboration, General Electric and Hindustan Aeronautics, a state-owned Indian corporation, are producing cutting-edge fighter jet engines for India’s indigenous light combat aircraft. Furthermore, the US has agreed to establish a factory in India to manufacture battle-proven armed drones.
