Sports education has long been a part of the curriculum at military training facilities. Veterans, alumni, and the current generation of cadets all swear by their athletic experiences. It has the ability to bring people together in ways that few other things can. It communicates with young people in a language they understand. Sports can bring hope where there was once only despair. It has more clout than governments in breaking down racial barriers”.
Through various physical activities, the NDA has laid out well-structured plans for young cadets to instill military core values such as honesty, commitment, work ethic, camaraderie, and the pursuit of personal excellence. Physical training prepares Cadets for future battles by teaching important life lessons on the sports field. It prepares future officers to lead from the smallest combat units to the highest levels of government. The long training hours at Physical Training Team (PTT), combined with close supervision, guidance, and innovative training methodologies, encourage self-reliance and a responsible attitude.
Major Sports Activities
The Cadets will be taught how to play and conduct various games. Each Cadet will be required to participate in at least one Troop Game per Term from the following sports: hockey, football, basketball, and volleyball. He will also be encouraged to learn one racquet game.
Sports Activities in NDA are generally divided into two terms that is Spring and Autumn. In the respective Terms, the following sports competitions are held:

- Athletics
- Tennis
- Cricket
Autumn Term
- Cross Country
- Football
- Handball
- Boxing
- Squash
- Water Polo
- Swimming and Diving
